    Question Nuisance Groundhog

I'm in Bucks County, which is rimfire hunting only for small game. I have a friend who has a nuisance groundhog or two in his backyard, digging up the ground under his shed. He's in a regular suburban development, so the neighbors are fairly close together.

Had similar problem at my house. What I did was block off one hole, put hose on tailpipe of my truck and pumped exhaust in for about for about 30 minutes, Haven't seen him again.

Be sure to check for no discharge ordinances.

I did something similar, but more fun. Two holes, one garden hose secured in hole one with a cinder block. Me sitting at hole two with a 12 gauge double bbl.

Did not want to risk shooting my brand new pole barn, or the neighbors.

Tried that, took him several miles away, he came back twice. So figured his time was up.

You could be right, but got tired of trapping them, and none have been back since guessing the hole.

In addition to any discharge ordinances you have to abide by the safety zone as established by the Game Commission:

    http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal...=726681&mode=2

Safety Zones: It is unlawful to hunt for, shoot at, trap, take, chase or
disturb wildlife within 150 yards of any occupied residence, camp,
industrial or commercial building, farm house or farm building, or
school or playground without the permission of the occupants.
In other words, even if it's legal to discharge a firearm in your township, borough, city, (or whatever designation might apply), you would have to have permission from all neighbors within 150 yards of where you would be shooting.
Just taking a WAG (Wild Assed Guess) based on this statement I'd say that it's very highly unlikely that you'd be OK with shooting the critters:

He's in a regular suburban development, so the neighbors are fairly close together.
That could mean a lot of permission from a lot of people.

I don't have a short temper, I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.
