Saiga 12 Classified as "Sporting" and Cleared for Importation
Just figured everyone would like to breathe a sigh of relief (Or regret if you paid the scare-tactic prices )
According to Interstate Arms, the Saiga 12 was classified as "Sporting" and cleared for importation.

Yeah someone needs to tell everyone in the classifieds that their 800+ prices need to work their way back down

Re: Saiga 12 Classified as "Sporting" and Cleared for Importation
all the price increases are silly...simple "patriot for profit" scare tactics from dealers. No one should buy a Saiga 12 until the prices drop back down to normal...I've noticed several people selling Saiga 12's on here for $800+. Don't do it. I'm only 23 and I can remember when the Saiga 12's were less than $300 The same thing happens with oil, political elections etc... more are coming in and the prices will drop again..

Re: Saiga 12 Classified as "Sporting" and Cleared for Importation
I remember like 5 years ago going into a local gunshop and seeing a saiga 12, price was like 250 and I passed on it....I think it would be cool to have one but not at 800-1000 ....maybe 400 for inflation bit no higher .....the hit at the gunshop trying to sell his for 1k told me to look at it as an investment ......well I would have made a flop, specially since at the same time I can find them at classicarms for 650....that and there are no good deals on the sale forum here either everyone trying to get what they paid for gun, used to be good bit no its a gunshop too.

Has anyone else heard or seen any other info on this? The link has since been taken down and for the life of me I cannot find anything else on the internet. I plan on purchasing a Saiga 12 but not at the scare price. My roommate in college had one and it was a blast to shoot.

I concur. I can't find a reference for this anywhere. However, I already have one.

I have seen no official word from BATFE, or any of the importers stating one way or the other on it yet.
This is the government we are talking about people, do you really think if the "study" closed on May 1st that they would have an official decision made public quickly? The resident Saiga snob

Not sure how official this is, but my dealer told my friend yesterday that the ruling won't be out till the end of this month.

I was told the other day also by my dealer that the ruling isn't till the end of the month. Maybe that was the ruling who knows? I'm glad I got mine before the scare though.
