Does anyone make.....
non-jacketed .380 or 9mm ammunition? I've looked around a little, but haven't been able to find anything. A local indoor range doesn't have caliber restrictions, per say, but doesn't allow jacketed ammo (or Magnums).
I'm considering joining, but if I can't get ammo for at least the 9mm, I'll probably pass.

Ultramax makes a 9mm round nose lead cartridge. You can get them at Sportsmansguide.com and likely other places.
Magtech makes them with LRN bullets in both calibers.Last edited by CoyoteJack; December 27th, 2007 at 09:54 PM.

Re: Does anyone make.....
It seems rather odd that an indoor range would ban jacketed rounds. Generally speaking lead only rounds are slower and perhaps easier on the backstop but the trade off is there is alot more lead dust in the air. A dust mask while there might not be a bad idea.

If they will allow plated bullets, you can get some from Berry's or Rainier. You'll have to hand load these however. I don't know of any commercial ammo that is loaded with plated bullets.
Come to think of it, where do you find commercial 9mm and 380 ammo that's loaded with un-jacketed lead ball?Soap Box - Worn out : Ballot Box - Broken : Jury Box - Pending : Ammunition Box - Unknown

Yes, now that you mention it, they do allow "plated" bullets, checking the e-mail from the club, they mentioned the Ranier type. I just don't have a reloading setup (yet) so I was hoping to find something commercially available.
I figured if it existed, someone here would know. Thanks for the leads.

Remington make 9mm ammo LRN, lead round nose, generally sold by the bulk spots like Dick's or Wal-Mart.
To roll your own look for light weight bullets, hard cast, in .356 or .357. Just need to get them light in weight around 85 to 125 grains.

Re: Does anyone make.....
yup... $50 bucks for 250 rounds in a bulk pack.
But.... What are you shooting 9mm in though? I don't know much on the subject, but everything I have read said to stay away from non-jacketed rounds for possible failure reasons depending on what type of gun your shoot.
Even a recent read on the Front Site website said to stay away from coated rounds depending on your gun....
