OK to fire BB gun in my basement in Philly?
Anybody know of any reason I can't shoot a BB gun in my basement in Philly?
I live in a long narrow rowhouse and could set up a 15+ yd. range in the basement with no problems. If it's not OK I can't do it 'cause the neighbors are close enough to hear it and might call cops to check out what's going on (some neighbors are cool and some neighbors are not -- same as anywhere else).
I'm really starting to get into bullseye type stuff lately and a BB or pellet gun is good enough practice for that. I get to the range a lot but I'd like to be able to practice anytime I feel like it.
Also, I already have an old Crossman CO2 semiauto BB pistol from when I was a kid, but if it turns out to be fun/good practice (and legal) I'd like to get something with a better trigger pull. Anybody know who sells bb guns and/or airsoft in SE PA area? Recomendations for a good brand/model?
Thanks in advance.

Is it OK? Absolutely. Air guns are not considered firearms in the state of Pennsylvania, and as far as the law is concerned, it's the same as shooting a nerf gun in your own home.
Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

Not a personal slam, but does anyone else find it sad that this question even had to be asked in PA, USA?

Re: OK to fire BB gun in my basement in Philly?
Cheer up. Legally it's OK to classify a BB gun differently than "arms." Even our Bozo commish can't stop me from keeping and bearing arms in defense of myself and the State, but it's up in the air about other crazy rules for stuff that isn't classified as "arms."
Carry on (literally) .
And keep the replies coming. This is interesting.
Thanks again.

Even though it is illegal to purchase a bb gun within city limits, I'm pretty sure you can fire one in the privacy of your own basement, they aren't loud like a real firearm so the noise issue isn't there.

Re: OK to fire BB gun in my basement in Philly?
I was under the impression that it is illegal to BUY, OWN OR POSSES air-rifles/BB guns within city limits.
The question is though, who would ever find out?
I think the old rule of "Eyes that don't see, heart that doesn't feel" applies well enough here.
Turn up the volume on the stereo, close the door, how can your neighbors tell if you are shooting BBs, or if you are just hammering something??==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."
