Was at the Range and it was Dead!!
Well, with this nice weekend in eastern PA, I spent yesterday and today at the range. Yesterday sighting in my new S&W MP15 with iron sights. At 100 yards, I got this pup right where I need it. Today, was working with my 3913 TSW. I belong to a club with 3,000 members. Saturday, I spent 2 hours at the rifle range and today about and an hour and half at the pistol range. Both ranges are outdoors and nicely kept by the club.
I was the only one each day during prime afternoon hours in great weather!! I would have expected some people to have been there as I arrived, to be there when I was shooting and to be arriving when I was leaving. What gives? Are people not going to the range because of ammo/gas prices? I have noticed this over the last couple of weekends this spring where the weather was nice. Just wondering and thanks for reading!!My GGG Grandpappy, front row (20th NC, Co. F.) and Family Circa 1900.

Spent most my weekend preparing to put docks in, but I normally do not shoot during the weekend. I shoot during the week when I know no one is gonna be around.

I wanted to hit the range but, yard work and 3 kids make free time limited . My guess is I am not the only one.

A lot of people are busy cutting the grass before it starts raining again. I was busy all day Saturday, but spent Sunday afternoon on my own private range. I am frequently amazed though, when I get to the club on a nice day and no one is there but me.

Re: Was at the Range and it was Dead!!
I have to wonder how the economy has effected gun purchases, ammo sales, and frequency of range visits?
I belong to a private club is Lancaster County and have noticed that the range visits have been shorter. Certainly there has been more 22s being shot.
If in fact that there has been little or no difference in the above areas, it would appear that the shooting public has more disposible cash than the average citizen.
