    Talking pittsburg nra convention

just got back from the convention, inside of the nra guide was a statement on the carring of firearms as follows, lawfully carried firearms are permitted in the convention center and in the exhibit hall.heinz field and the consol energy center prohibit the possession of firearms. when carring your firearm, remember to follow all federal, state, and local laws. this is word for word out of the book. i carried concealed all day fri. and sat. no problems looks or questions asked. i didn't carry to the consol energy center for the freedom experience but probably could have without being noticed, nobody was checking at the entrance. overall a good experience with no hassles not even from the hotel or resturants that we went to. everybody was happy to see the nra there.hopefully next year in st. louis we can carry at all the venues.

The most dangerous place in America is a "gun free" zone.

Not that it matters at this point since the convention is over, but this is right off their website home page (www.nraam.org):

Note: Lawfully carried firearms are permitted in the Convention Center, in the Exhibit Hall and in the CONSOL Energy Center. Heinz Field prohibits the possession of firearms. When carrying your firearm, remember to follow all federal, state and local laws.

not trying to be a ass but if blue enigma could read my post correctly he would notice i refferenced the nra program not there website. considering these are printed far in advance the logical conclusion is there stance on this subject was changed. this info i provided can be found on page two at the top in bold lettering. such as it is i don't mind being corrected if i'm wrong but in this case i'm not. as blue enigma states it isn't relavent anymore as the convention is over, i posted this info for those planning on going sunday. speaking of such i can only hope that blue enigma took the time to go and support one of the few associations that supports his rights.

No worries red dog. Was just stating, for the record, carry was allowed for this convention at Consol. I was very pleased the NRA and Sports & Exhibition Authority (managing authority for all sporting venues in Pittsburgh) were able to come to an agreement allowing handguns to be carried at the Consol Energy Center (whom normally prohibits firearm entrance). My guess is they figured it would be a mess otherwise.

And of course I was there....it was a fantastic show. Being from the Pittsburgh area and a vocal supporter of the NRA it would take a lot for me to miss it. Although, I will admit - the traffic Friday afternoon was almost enough to make me fold!!

Thumbs up Re: pittsburg nra convention

to blue enigma, i just want to say that the group of guys i was with really enjoyed being in pittsburg. none of us had ever been there before and being from smaller suburban areas (some from south jersey) we found the street layout a mess. we got there on thurs. afternoon and stayed at the weston until sat. checkout., no driving needed. to all the locals a big thanks for the warm reception, it goes a long way to making you feel comfortable in a new enviroment. no hassles just a few cold beers and a good time with other like minded people. be safe shoot straight, don't forget aim small shoot small. yours red dog

It actually, at one time, was spelled without the final "H".

The minor spelling error is not cool, but what's even worse is people pronouncing it Picksburgh... and these are usually people who live in W. PA.
