Glock’s 25th Anniversary Pistol Is Limited Edition But You Can Probably Get Your Hands on One

Kat Hannaford — Limited edition usually means there's a slim chance of getting your hands on the object in question, but in Glock's 25th anniversary pistol's case, you could very well be one of 2,500 people to own one.

The silver anniversary Glock 17 Gen4 pistol celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Austrian brand Glock being in the US. The Glock, of course, is one of the most popular brands to be used by the police, and in this case the limited edition version comes with the same safe action trigger and cold-hammer forged barrel, along with a commemorative keychain so you can show off down at the local gun club. Thats been out for a while now. Honestly I think Glock did a real lame job on it. They threw a half assed badge on a run of the mill Gen 4 gun. I would much rather have seen a remake of the Gen1 frame with modern internals or something like that.

I dont fall for these Anniversary/limited edition gimmicks, primarily because I cant afford it on a grad student income. Also I personally cannot own a firearm and not shoot it.

It would be different if I was LE or MIL and received something like a pistol in a wood and glass presentation box.

IMHO im ok with Glock doing a 25th anniversary on a Glock 17 4Gen. The 4th Gen shows the newest evolution of the original Glock 17 1Gen, 25 years later.

Maybe one day when im old and rich I can collect these "special" weapons.

You don't have to sign a contract promising not to fire it.

My conscience would kick my butt if I spent the extra cash to have one and shoot it.

Plus with my luck I'd probably drop it! hahaa

I would totally shoot it. almost dropped a grand a few years ago on an anniversary HK USP Compact .45 with the high gloss finish. Would have carried it too. Guys at the gunshop wouldnt let me look at it. Wouldn't take it out of the case and said I wasn't allowed to touch it. So I walked. I WOULD HAVE bought it that day if they weren't such assholes.
