Don't know if this has changed because of the new system but SP 4-127 (10-2008) APPLICATION FOR A PENNSYLVANIA LICENSE TO CARRY FIREARMS makes no such inquiries regarding denied carry applications. The only relevant question is:

I understand that other states may inquire but PA apparently doesn't FWIW.

ETA: nor can I find any such inquiry for a FL license (DACS-16036 Rev. 9/10)
All I have to add here is that NH is one state that does indeed ask about any prior denials in any other state...

I cannot recall if AZ did or not (I didn't make a copy of their application). Someone else here will know for sure, though...

    Regards,

    Bones

FL asks about denials too I believe. CT I know for sure does. Mass Non Resdient app also asked.

If you're a PA resident, I don't believe the denial of a non-resident permit in another state would affect your ability to apply for PA LTCF. And, note that a renewal holds no special status or processing in PA; it's the same as all other LTCF applications.

Now THIS isn't entirely true. It's true for PA residents, but not for non-residents. Those who are not PA residents that attempt to apply for a PA non-resident LTCF can (and will) be denied said permit if they are ineligible or unable to obtain a permit in their home state. So, there are scenarios in PA law where a denial in another state is grounds for denial here. Fortunately, it doesn't apply to most applicants.

    AZ does not...FL does not....CT does...NH does...ME does...UT does not...

But...they should all understand when you say it was NJ that denied you...

Yeah, I live in West Milford for 14 years then Jefferson Twp for another 12. I finally smartened up and moved to PA. Buying a pistol in Jersey when I turned 21 was a major PITA.

A while back I was active police officer and also a FFL 1 dealer. I wanted the license to transport firearms accross the bridge to PA. I went for the nonresident license and even went through fingerprinting. I was told that I had the option to rescind my application as it would be denied. This is while I was an active police officer in PA. That was prior to the new LSOA law.
