    Default Got a ?

I am planning on getting a shotgun from someone in Va. I live here in Pa and was curious if anyone would be able to tell me how to go about this. I am told that the person who has it bought it from a private person in Va and that no paper work was done or needed when he bought it. I don't know anything about if that is the correct way things are done in Va or not. So does the previous transaction of the gun matter to this transaction to me and Pa? Any help would be great.

    Thanks
    Jeff

The previous transaction doesn't matter. You just need to have the shotgun shipped to an FFL here for transfer.

Correct. The firearm has to be shipped to a dealer in your home state. You will then have to go to the dealer, complete the ATF 4473 form & have the background check performed to get your Christmas present.

Ok thanks. One more ? can I bring it to pa myself and then just go to Gander Mountain or someplace like that and register it in my name? Is that legal or no? I am new to all this so thanks for the info.
