Re: [FUNDRAISER] Holding Philadelphia Responsible
I guess I should chime in.
I've corresponded with Mark privately, and explained why this particular case does not fit the issues that Rich Banks and myself have sought to address in the past with our fundraising efforts, and thus, I cannot formally head up the fundraiser.
However, that does not mean that I don't think this is a worthwhile effort. I have pledged a $100 contribution, which I will be sending directly to Mark when I get paid this weekend.
I obviously cannot guarantee this isn't a scam, but I certainly don't believe that. Apparently some seem to look to me for a cue, so I figured they should know that even though I don't really know Mark well, I trust him enough to make a donation towards this effort. In my opinion, that's the easy part. To me, he has already proven that he has the stamina and determination I would be looking for when considering whether or not I should involve myself.
There has also been some suggestion that a third party handle the money. This is certainly a reasonable suggestion, but I think it's worth pointing out that twice in the past, fundraisers were conducted where the money went directly to the involved parties. The first was my own LTCF revocation, and the second was the LTCF denial of PAFOA user Damage Control. I think this demonstrates that either is a viable option, though I recognize the comfort that having a third party holding 'the bag' provides to some donors.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! Re: [FUNDRAISER] Holding Philadelphia Responsible
Greg,
Thank you very much for your contribution, and the chat we had privately. I'm really glad my lawyer is accepting checks on my behalf because it removes some of the hesitancy that people would have in donating directly to me, although those funds are staying reserved for this purpose and this purpose only.Junior

Re: [FUNDRAISER] Holding Philadelphia Responsible
i wish you the best of luck, but this is way to vague for me to toss money behind.
"i want to do something to change something" ok that's great, and i'm not being sarcastic, I want to see phli held accountable also. But unless you can nail down what you're going to do and how I just can't toss my money into a hat and hope for the best

Re: [FUNDRAISER] Holding Philadelphia Responsible
May I have a PM with where to send a check, who to make it out to, and anything to put in the "memo" line to make sure it goes where it needs to?
Personally, I don't really have alot of money I can go throwing around. With all the things going on, I should be pinching every penny. That being said, what you are doing, is the "right thing". And, I know if I were in your shoes, I would welcome all the help I could get.
So, you can expect to be receiving a check from me, in the next few days (perhaps after pay day)I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.

I'll contribute also...and I have no dog in this fight except that we need to fight this kind of crap wherever it happens.
I have an issue with the PayPal thing.
You have a problem with Philly PD but none with PayPal?
Resist on every level. No quarter. Understand yet?
You want my dollars...denounce PayPal same as you would Philly PD.

Re: [FUNDRAISER] Holding Philadelphia Responsible
Thanks for the assist, Greg.
If you feel uncomfortable donating, for any reason whatsoever, then keep your money. I do not expect people to hand over their cash if they have any doubts, in fact, I don't expect anyone to donate towards this at all. All helps is highly appreciated, which is why I set this up so that PayPal can be used as well as the direct sending of checks to my lawyer, in my name.
Also, why do you have such disdain for PayPal?Junior

Bolded by me, easy answer. They and Ebay have a well known and well established Anti gun bias, so I understand where people are coming from in refusing to do business with any entity that actively works against our core interests. Hey Mark, did you plan on making an appearance this coming Good Friday 4/22 at the big protest at Delia's off Torresdale ?
