Public Range in Philadelphia

I propose Philadelphia build a public trap and rifle range in Fairmount Park. Copy and paste ( 39° 59.760'N 75° 12.450'W ) into Google Earth to see the location I propose using.

Beside being in Philly and needing the city government to OK it in Fairmount Park it would never fly in the City Ave. area you propose with condos within sight and a couple retirement villages nearby.





On a side note, Delaware County Field & Stream isn't too far away at 18 miles, about 30 - 45 minutes. Trap, Table Trap, Skeet, 5 stand, pistol, big bore rifle, black powder, small bore rifle, airgun, & archery ranges.

i do not see the city providing the shooting grounds. i wish it would. id love shoot clay birds for once.

i can just see the statement from some polition about "stray bullets" hitting cars on 76 and people in the condos

also yuppies would think its ok to play Frisbee on the range during live fire and not understand why its not ok

but in all seriousness you should email everyone on city council, the fairmount park commission, and nutter with this plan and the pictures and post their responses
