    can not believe no one took this one, there are very few changes in the glock generations the primary difference in the first three are the grip styles. the extractor has been changed several times also. i have first gen thru third gen and they all work well. just to make a point my first gen 17 bought in 86 has over 10,000 rounds thru it needless to say i quit counting.the only part replaced was the rear sight.

    Not really. Some folk think they're better.

    I'm kinda on the hunt for a Gen 2 23 or 19 myself. Gonna cut it up.

    ...converting it with just a barrel is also possible? ciener 22 conversions? thanks for the info everybody! The post DID sit awhile enuff for me to wonder if it was a stupid question. I knew it was more than just the finger grips which I'm never a fan of on knives, guns or tools.

    Nope, cutting the grip size down. You take a 19 and cut the grip down so it takes 26 mags. Or cut a 17 down to the size of a 19. See here;

    I happen to like the gen 2s better. If you have larger hands the gen 2 will be much more comfortable. There are no finger grooves in the gen2s. The man in this videos favorite PISTOL of all times is the Glock 23. the one in the video is a gen 2

    The earlier barrels did not have as much support. They were also 2-pin frames vs the supposibly stronger 3 pin frames. If you run into to much case bulging you could pick up a new OE Glock barrel for around $150. The .40 doesn't operate at quite the pressures the .357sig does so it may a little easier on the gun but is really load dependant . Some guys love the Gen 2, I like the Gen 3s myself.

    Glock never made a 2 pin framed G23/22. The G23/22 were the reason the Glocks went with a 3 pin frame.

    The 2 pin frames were 9mm only, all Gen 1 & 2 and early Gen3 9mm's were 2 pin.
