Actually you did. You took positive terms and used them sarcastically. It's still name calling:

The vets I know seem very different from you. I know several folks who've been in various branches of the military, including a few family members. They don't make a big fuss about their service, and they certainly don't go on and on about their past exploits and days of glory in order to try to score points in arguments. It's just not what vets do, in my experience. Just saying.

I can guarantee you it will be the most interesting OC encounter you will ever have ... and most likely the last.
Is that a death threat? Cause it kinda sound like it is.

Negative stereo types? The thing that gives gun owners bad names, and gains supports for the Brady campaign, is when a shooting spree happens. Other than that, the guys who are out and about OCing and not causing trouble, are setting a good example for gun owners.

Negative Rep, if you have a negative reputation, people will not take you seriously. The ones that have negative rep, are people that are here to troll, mislead others, or have suggested things that are against the rules. I.E. Your walking into a recruiting center, while OCing. Since that is most likely considered a federal building, it is against the law.

Immature behavior? These guys are rather mature. Some of their "immature" behavior could be them just blowing off a little steam or stress. While firearms are a serious topic, this is also a place where they can come and joke around. Share stories, and get a good laugh. You could consider a forums a coffee shop, or bar if you prefer. Anyway, people go there to meet friends, share stories, and have a good time. Would you go into a public coffee shop and tell a bunch of guys, that are not bothering you, that they are immature?

Why only a war? Police officers, and other law enforcement carry openly. If the populous gets used to seeing people carry firearms around openly, they should in theory, become less frighten of them.

Or else what? You'll continue to chastize me because you disgree with my actions?

Your opinion differs from mine. Thank you for your input, if for nothing other than the effort you devoted to sarcastically picking apart my halloween costume, calling me immature, and falsely stating that the activism I choose to participate in "does nothing." While I, like so many others, still have a lot of maturing to do, I'm thankful on this Thanksgiving morning that at least I don't openly judge and intentionally disrespect others because I either disagree with them or don't understand their motives.

Also, for the record, many people look at the way I write, particilarly about my encounters, and draw the conclusion that since I take so much time to set the scene and describe detail, that I MUST do it for the attention. Well, I like to write. I like for my readers to see what I saw, feel what I felt, and view the world through my perspective at the time.

You "don't rock the boat" types always make me smile. It's almost like you think we'd be better off not even knowing how to swim.

By the way, did you sign up for this forum specifically to get after my goat?

Wow ... a young girl at WAWA, making a man fart (almost shitting his pants), an old lady asking "Is he wearing a gun ?, the cable guy seeing you in blue cammies and a hip holster saying, "Oh shit !" ..... how cute. Dressing up like a combat Marine, bravely walking the streets of the suburbs ..... such terrific stories, but let's admit that on the 'excitement scale' your log needs much more 'panache'.
Accordingly, I came up with a suggestion to you and the other OC'ers here, who love to thrill us with your 'encounter' stories:

I have been reading most of these 'Open Carry' threads for quite a while, and since you seem to be the "OC Mentor" I have a suggestion for you. However this suggestion would also be a good idea for most of you OC'ers, since your average age seems to be just right.
I got this idea when I watched that awesome video of you, modeling your drop leg holster and tactical vest.
In the spirit of Veterans Day, why don't you walk down to your local Marine Corps recruitig station (OC'ing of course) and enlist ?
Just think, while in training at Parris Island, you can share all of your encounters and share everything you learned in your deadly 'shoot-out' incidents (that is, naturally if you've had any).
All though that Taurus 1911 you carry must be top of the line, as well as all of your other 'tactical' equipment, I'm sure the Marine Corps will issue you weapons that just may be as good as an experienced 'operator' like you, prefer.
Not only will this allow you to OC in exotic places like Afghanistan, you can also now brag that you now (FINALLY) did your part to protect the U.S. Constitution, that you and your followers, love, quote and have down to memory.
I always wondered how all the "Constitutionalists" here, have never raised their right hand, swore to protect that sacred document, and put themselves in harm's way, to defend it. I guess there is some excuse .... oh ... I mean explanation.
Believe me, this will bring your "OC encounters" to new levels of excitement, and you may even get the chance to educate the members of the Taliban and AlQaeda on Pennsylvania Law, and tell them how terribly brutal, ignorant and almost 'Gestapo Like' our local Law Enforcement Officers are here, as opposed to their understanding and sympathetic Sharia Law enforcers in their Muslim country.
I thought of this helpful suggestion for (especially) you as well as the other OC'ers here, as I recalled my experience OC'ing.
Of course (since I am 66 years old) it was very long ago, in a tropical paradise called Vietnam. (but I was much younger than you at that time)
(Use the Google Map to locate this vacation paradise if you are not familliar with it.)
I OC'd for 12 months and 20 days there, while in the Marine Corps, from May 1967 to June 1968. I especially had several encounters during the infamous "TET Offensive, in a large urban city named "HUE." (Pronounced "Way")
I am sorry to say, the ignorant people who I did 'encounter' were obviously not familiar with legal 'Open Carry' since all of my encounters were 'negative,' to an extreme. In fact so extreme that they shot and killed 8,000 of us "OC'ing" U.S. troops, in just the next FOUR months.
These people looked different than me and had assault weapons that were not like mine. But the most intriguing thing about these negative encounters, they were so alarmed at my OC'ing, they shot at me! Not only with their strange rifles but with rocket propelled grenades, 82 mm mortars and even Soviet 122 mm rockets.
Now you must admit that these encounters would be so much more interesting than your average encounters with teenaged female clerks at your favorite WaWa, or the ninimum waged security guards at your local Malls and Walmarts.
Just think how much more interesting "Viper19801's" log would be !!!! Especially when you handed out pamphlets of PA Law to them and requested to speak to their supervisor (called 'Village Elders' there). I'd bet your fan club and Youtube viewers would grow by leaps and bounds.
Of course, I would not suggest that "Pretty in Pink" accompany you during this adventure. But you can place a picture of her inside your helmet, and she can follow your 'Encounter Log' on the nightly news, as I am sure you can still record and video these encounters and send them to all our major news outlets.
I'll sign off now, while hoping you take my advice and really add some thrill to your log as well as protecting our sacred Constitutional Rights that I so frequently and reverently read, how you and your fellow OC'ers fear, could be lost, unless brave individuals like all of you take a stand to protect them. I am really looking forward to the new and improved "Viper Log."
    Semper Fi !!
Not quite sure what your point is. That is of course if you have a point. Are you trying to say that only people who have served should carry? Only people who build cars should drive? Only people who brew beer should drink beer?

    Whats your point?

I lived in the Duplex right behind Tori's for a year back in the 90's and it seemed like every day you would hear a minor fender bender.
Wawa got rid of quite a few Wawa's where the parking was bad. The one by Tori's was the absolute worst. I remember when Wawa bought the house next door to the store on Lansdowne Ave near Baltimore Ave just to knock it down and expand the parking lot. They did that to quite a few as well, one in Upper Chi comes to mind.

I don't see them getting rid of the few mentioned here, bad lots or not, they are always full. No big properties around them to buy to build a super Wawa, which would be the only reason to close them at this point.

Agreed, all those Wawas are good neighborhoods with a ton of walk in business as well as cars. I still occasionally stop in each of those Wawa's and based on how busy they always are I doubt any of them are even close losing money.

The WAWA at Monroe and Baltimore Ave. (across from the Media Post Office) will remain open. That one is about 560 yards from the new proposed location (front door to front door).

Keeping with the tread title,,,, that's where I met Mark,,,,,and he was open carrying.
    George,
