This reminds me of my pop.

Guys would show up during deer season with these pretty guns. My pop would say, yea but can you hit anything with it? I know I can with my Remington and I paid a lot less than you did.

The real old timers had worn doubles their father bought for them or their gran pappies handed down.. and they knew how to shoot.

All in all though.. it is a very special nice looking gun with some known words..

I also like the picture quality.

    That revolver ain't fer shootin'.
One shot through it would devalue it so far that he'd need his ass kicked real hard for doing it.

I don't have a short temper, I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

But I just couldn't spend that much money on such a nice firearm and not even be able to shoot a few round out of it.

OK, so here's the story. I'm a big Dan Wesson fan, a 44 mag fan, and needless to say, a big fan of 2A in case you guys haven't noticed . Even all of that, I'd never imagined owning one of these. I've always thought the whole BBQ gun thing was gaudy and ridiculous, especially anything "gold-plated".

Anyway, I came across this while looking at a Dan Wesson PPC. I showed my wife and she immediately exclaimed "it's a beautiful gun!" That got me to take a closer look at it. The more I did, the more I found that my wife was right. Not only I got her blessings, she even gave me some of her bonus $ to buy the gun. Final price on GB was $1250, way less than what I spent on a Sig 556 pistol during the height of the Obama scare.

Now, my wife wanted to shoot it initially, but this is the first time in my life I don't want to shoot a gun that we were planning on buying. She thought that was a bit silly, still wanted to put 6 rounds through, until she saw the gun in person. I think if you see the gun in person, you'll understand. Will we ever shoot it? Maybe, but for the time being, it's going to sit in its case and look purty

Nope, box came without rounds. I put some 44mag into the slots.

Nice addition to the collection...seems to have a nice balance of engraving. Still not much of a fan myself for the gold cylinder and trigger. But heck thats just me.

And kudos to the wife as well, your lucky! She helped you get what you wanted. AND she lets you have A dirty mag lay in the livingroom... We know you just read the articals and skip the pictures...

Now start some google foo, find out if the ammo was originally gold or silver plated and find some to complete the package.

    Snert..

I gave $500.00 for my used DW 44mag last year. So I think you did well. I don't think I would shoot yours.

I have three DW's at this point.

What's dirty about an architectural magazine about top-level floor living in high buildings?

I wasn't aware of the gold/silver plated ammo thing, but I don't think I care too much about that. Will look into it though, but unlikely will find any.

I got hooked on them with starting with the Model 12. I got a brand new Model 12 Pistol Pak for around $400 a couple of years back and ended up shooting it even though its serial number is in the low 300's. Bought a couple more after that, including a 744, then recently a used 357 Supermag which I haven't fired yet. Not exactly sure why I like them so much. They just seem to be great workhorses.
