Default Lock Haven PD are good eggs

This is one of many times I have encountered Lock Haven PD with no problems whatsoever...not even a comment about my gun.

I was doing a large amount of laundry at the Econowash in town late last night. An older lady that works there was helping me fold my laundry when a female officer walked in. She apparently stops in to check on the old lady from time to time to make sure she is OK. The officer saw my gun and the three of us exchanged small talk that had nothing to do with me having a gun.

The best part of my experience with the LHPD is that I have never had even the slightest inclination that they would harass me or any other gun owner carrying openly.

So kudos to the Lock Haven Police for respecting the right to bear arms and never making me explain myself for carrying a gun.

Still, as much as we have negative posts about encounters I think those who don't violate our rights deserve some appreciation.

I fully agree, they deserve more then some, IMHO.
Not for the sole fact that they are correctly doing their job, but because they do their job correct in a time (era) or when doing it incorrectly seems to run rampant.

When we met the chief at the one council meeting, he did not mention anything about our guns. He was friendly. Many of us were OC.

I wish there were more stories like these. I am thinking about re-creating my old OC log for the sake of mentioning every OC encounter I have, good, bad, or indifferent, just to give a better idea of what it's like.

I think that was more a case of young punk syndrome than anything else.

Glad to hear it. "Lockhaven State, where the men are men and so are the women." A buddy of mine went there many years ago. That was a party school.

Well, that's an offensive remark from someone that has never been there. Oh, and BTW, it is Lock Haven University and is highly regarded for the quality of the teachers that graduate from there. Maybe your "buddy" liked to party, but the people that I know that went there went for the education. No, I'm not a graduate of LHU but both my daughters are as is my son in law.
