Seconding Bluestone. Jeff is great. Winter Firearms in Red Lion is great too. Drew is a solid dude and has some great pieces. Both 20$ for transfers.

Necro is ok. I am glad to see some posts flying around. I wasn't sure anyone from Southern York County was alive on here. Haha.

Yep, I was thinking about posting the same thing. I've never had a transfer take more than 15-20 minutes, and $40-50 is way too much. I often buy a couple of boxes of ammo or some cleaning supplies if I'm charged a reasonable transfer fee, but I wouldn't if I think the fee is too high or am treated as unappreciated.

Every business is free to charge whatever they want, but I do try to shop around for a reasonable fee based on location.

    2. PICS is slow as hell and sometimes it takes hours for it to go through
    3. I am responsible for that paperwork and serial number for 25 years

I had many internet transfers take 3 hours or more and when you break down the transfer fee into the time spent logging in, logging out, dealing the PICS website, etc. it comes out to less than minimum wage. im sure no one wants to punch the clock for $8 per hour and neither do i. also something to think about is when you get a denial and then get a subpoena to show up in court for that denial. now that measly $40 turns into a pain in the ass. the guys charging $20 or less for a transfer are losing money on the deal and/or just haven't been screwed over yet. people that think a $40 or $50 transfer fee is steep obviously dont know how much time is invested in the process. its not as simple as 5 minutes and done.

Thanks for the breakdown. I understand not wanting to lose money on a transaction. How often have you been subpoenaed over a transfer ?

i am sure this has been posted numerous times here in the last 15 years but all you have to do is go to gunbroker and search for FFLs in your area that do transfers. Just looked and in Bucks county the prices are as high as $50 a transfer (the I don't want to do that price) to a low of $20.
