I pay $10-15, can't remember which, at Wagner's Gun Shop in Bellwood (Near Altoona).

Re: FFL transfer fees???
I do all my transfers with Cathy at Choice Firearms in Levittown, PA even though it's a 30-minute drive from where I live. If I do 2 at a time, she charges me an extra $10. She also ships guns for me for $10 + actual USPS Priority with insurance cost.
My local range charges $50 for out-of-state transfers and $35 for in-state face-to-face. It's too high. I always recommend people to go to http://www.gunbroker.com/user/DealerNetwork.asp and search for a dealer near them (really helpful for someone who wants to ship guns to you for cheap). It only takes a few minutes to call around.

Re: FFL transfer fees???
Here in Southern California where I live, I paid $85 at two different places. The third in a neighboring town 35 miles away wanted $125. In these places in didn't make any difference whether it was an in-state transfer, out-of-state transfer or a FTF. With these kind of fees plus 8.75% tax on the sale you have to really want the gun or you just say to heck with it!

I just used firearmtransfers.net that advertises here on PaFOA and it was a very nice deal.
John is a good guy to work and talk with.

Re: FFL transfer fees???
I know this is a mega old thread...
But...
I was googling current FFL transfer prices for PA...
I'm finally transitioning back to PA from a 10yr stint in NY...
I was just quoted $100 for a long arm transfer direct from a manufacturer...
I thought I was getting bent over when I was a New Yorker...! Holy Cow!
I have never paid that for any transfer... I'm calling the manufacturer back and changing FFL's right away...
anyone else see this kind of pricing...?
I'm all for supporting local/smaller shops, but that's the equivalent of paying for a Ferrari and driving home a GEO Metro...

Re: FFL transfer fees???
The nature of the industry is that gun stores frequently change their attitudes and prices regarding transfers. With that caveat, a good source to check is:
http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerNetwork.aspx
You can enter your zip code and see local FFL holders that will handle transfers. The going rates near me are in the $20 to $50 range. For me, the highest are the closest two stores.

Re: FFL transfer fees???
Current pricing for an old thread.
I recently went through the FTF handgun transfer process, called around to some shops and the first answer was "No can do, too busy" (wtf?) Was quoted $30, $40, $45 and $50.
In the end I paid $40
