I couldn't agree more. I have a Wingmaster 12Ga that I bought in 1975 & it's been flawless. For many years, due to raising a family, it was my ONLY gun. Waterfowl, turkey, deer, rabbits, upland game........it's done it all.

My one would be a true american classic. The Remington Model 11 with a 27inch barrel and Cutts choke (US Military model) or the 20" Riot Gun. Unstopable is the word. These are tanks. The Browning A5 would be my second choice.

My Winchester 1300. The only gun that I owned for 11 years and the only shotgun that I owned for almost 18 years. I use it for everything shotguns are used for and I've never had any problem with it.
It's all fun and games, til someone shoots your bobber!

I'm amazed no1 has mentioned an AA-12. You can all have your pump guns while I'm emptying drums into the Zombies!!!

You direct me as to where I can get one of those transferrable to me for not umpteen thousand $ and I'll change my answer for you no problem.

On a serious note, as much as I like drums, and as slower as it is t fully reload a pump gun. And possibly fire. It's easier to reload a pump gun partially than it is to reload say a saiga or aa12 magazine fed shotgun. And if we're taking zombies good luck finding magazines for that aa12. Or even Saiga. The pump gun is it's own magazine. No it's not as cool or as quick. But in the long haul. It's more reliable, and sustainable than any auto. Especially when the world collapses and all you have, is all you have. And proper maintenance isn't possible any more. The pump gun wins. Especially one as reliable as the 870.

He never said it had to be one you could own right this second. And if its the end of the world you better believe I'm going straight to all the military bases I can find and taking whatever they have laying around including but not limited to weapons/vehicles/clothing/food/supplies.

I'll give you $100 more than you paid for it (In 1992).

Seriously, I have a Field Grade 20ga Citori that's my second favorite grouse gun; right behind my Grade III, 25", 16ga Uggie SxS.
