Yes but you should read two threads:
http://forum.pafoa.org/concealed-ope...ry-permit.html
http://forum.pafoa.org/open-carry-14...ml#post1543675
BTW did you use a class/facilitator type company to assist in getting your FL carry license or did you apply on your own?IANAL

And since you are in the Garden State, you could be our test case for: (1) carrying in Philthy with an out-of-state license/permit; and (2) transporting your weapon from your home to the PA state line through NJ.

I just don't know about this crazy state I live in. I have a NJ FID card. I could keep my ccw gun in the trunk and when I get to PA take it out and use my Florida ccw?

Re: New to CCW Is my
Your FID card does NOT allow for possession of a handgun off your property- it applies to longarms only.
Your issue is that, while in NJ, your off-premises possession of a handgun without qualifying for a NJS 2C:39-6 exemption is a second degree crime (5-10 years) under NJS 2C:39-5b.
Certainly once you arrive in Pa you're good to go with your FL license (except under Phila illegal 'law' previously referenced). The issue for all NJ residents is how to legally transport a handgun between your NJ residence and the NJ border.Last edited by tl_3237; March 28th, 2011 at 11:26 AM.

Re: New to CCW Is my
That may be what they tell you and how the police cajole you into getting one BUT it is not statutorily supportable. (see NJS "2C:58-3" - you'll find no such pre-requisite)
The FID allows:
1. purchase of longarms;
2. possession of longarms off your premises without an NJS 2C:39-6 exemption because it totally tolls the proscription NJS 2C39-5c;
3. purchase of handgun ammo.
If going to a range you qualify for NJS 2C:39-6f(2)(b) exemption and do not have to have an FID or a pistol purchase permit. Additionally the FID has no bearing on the legality/illegality of handgun possession.IANAL
