"P"Stamp on Sig Barrels.
Just wondering if anyone knows what the letter P in a circle means thats stamped on Sig barrels.
I have a Sig 229-R.

Pretty sure it is a proof mark for US produced pistols. German produced pistols will have an eagle holding an "N", meaning the proof was for "Nitro" (smokeless propellant), and will also have a stamp on the "nose" of the slide of which official proof house did the proof. All older German SIGs I have owned or examined had the city of Kiel proof mark stamped on them.
