Sporting Clay Choke Selection? Brand?
All,
I am curious to find out what brand chokes everyone shoots for sporting clays. I have been using Briley for a little while I am and considering the idea of trying out "Pure Gold" chokes on a new shotgun I picked up as it didn't come with LM. I have seen a couple of people talk about PureGold in a good way, and the price point makes them even more interesting.
So what do you all use?

I went with Muller chokes this time around. They are so light that making the switch moved the balance point of my shotgun a little closer to my hands, which was a good thing (32" barrels). Nice toys.

Skeet and IC Briley Spectrums

Re: Sporting Clay Choke Selection? Brand?
It all depends on the range itself for choke selection, I usually only ever shot IC out of my semi auto. The sporting clays range I used to work at I always recommended skeet and IC. I always had good luck with Briley.

Pretty much stick to IC for most sporting clays applications, but also carry a LM just in case. Use Trulock chokes most of the time.

Re: Sporting Clay Choke Selection? Brand?
First, I use SK/IC chokes 90% of the time in both my 12 and 20 gauge guns. Sometimes I switch to an Imp-Mod for longer shots. I use both Briley and Trulock choke tubes, along with the factory Invector Plus which came with my Brownings...

I use the mod choke that came with my Remington 870. I can't hit shit with it, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Now if we're talking about shooting skeet where the clay bird gets thrown in the same exact direction every single time, then I frickin rule at it!

I'm talking about when we go to Wicen's and we have one thrower, that throws the clays in the exact same pattern from the same fixed position every time. That's the only time I can get consistent hits. But then I went to Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays and only hit about 35-40 out of 100 shots. I guess it takes practice.
