Re: Goods for Guns program - Allegheny County
Oh God, not another one of these. The problem with these trade-in programs is that lawful citizens can't buy back the guns turned in from the police.

Re: Goods for Guns program - Allegheny County
Whats to stop someone from legally transfering a longun? What bothers me is the old grandmothers that take their now passed away husband's old rifle (that he probably brought back from somewhere in WWII) and trade it in because "guns are dangerous"
Pisses me off.
Might stop over in homestead with some cash, and start offering it for any rifles I see. Nothing illegal about a private sale of a long gun in PA.
Better yet, what is to stop a private organization from doing the same thing? Taking in these guns, and turning over to the police any that show up as stolen or used in a crime, and keep the rest?

Re: Goods for Guns program - Allegheny County
This is insane I think all it does is promote gun theft so people can turn in a stolen gun.

Or, just capped someone on the street? Wanna ditch the weapon? Turn it in here, no questions asked, AND get money for it! Sweet deal!
