Question about the Kimber Custom II and Pro Carry II models...

I'm currently looking at variants of these two Kimber models and I just came up with a thought and I wanted to see if any of you thought it might work. From the research I've done it's my understanding the the frame and everything on the bottom half of the Custom TLE/RL II and the Pro TLE/RL II are the same. Do you happen to know if I purchased the Custom if it's possible to purchase the upper half of the Pro and swap back and forth depending on what I'm using it for?

I think that would be a good question too ask Kimber. I would think no.
Some gun manufacturer's may have the serial number or a assembly number on the slide and frame.

But I would think that you also need to have the ability to purchase replacement parts. What if the slide got damaged and it needed to be replaced?
