Automated AR's DI Vs. Gaspiston
OK so was just crusin around and found this and thought it might be usefull to some folks here. So before it starts a mines better than yours pissin match. This post was just to give a link for others to look at the 2 systems function for comaprison.

I do think gas piston is superior. And if you're in a situation where cleaning and maintenance will be hard to keep up with, for instance, war, I think the gas piston system is a huge benefit. However, I still think there is nothing wrong with the DI system. Even in war (no personal experience, but we all have opinions ) I don't think it's a terrible thing.
DI AR's aren't the jam-o-matics people seem to think they are, you just need to clean them more often. As civilians, big fuckin' deal.

The merits of a piston gun aside, you have very few (if any) of the benefits in a converted AR.
Jeff Cooper was a huge supporter of gun games, when he was winning them at least...
