First time CC'ing
Got my AZ permit in the mail on 19FEB. Last night I went to PA for the first time since getting my permit and decided it would be the prefect time to CC for the first time. I was heading to Parx casino for a little no-limit poker. Once I passed over the PA border, I pulled over at the first good place and got the pistol from the trunk. I've been reading a lot of the stories on here and thought that I might be nervous CC'ing for the first time. Surprisingly I wasn't at all. I was completely at peace. I was so calm that I got myself nervous because I was so calm (I know that makes no sense). It felt GREAT being able to have a firearm on my hip in the car and not scared to death like I would be had I been doing it here in NJ. LOL, NJ laws are soooo messed up that I get scared even when I go to the range here in NJ. You never know what surprises are in store for you when transporting in NJ but being able to CC was 100% the complete opposite. I found a local McDonalds and grabbed something to eat. Not once was I scared that someone might notice the “EVIL” man with the gun under his shirt. After eating and not having the world come to an end I found a local dollar store for a box of tampons. NO not for me, lol, I love them for cleaning barrels.
Then it was a short drive to Parx. When I parked I put my pistol in the trunk before heading in. This was actually the first and only time I was a little scared. I had thoughts in my head that someone might see me putting it in the trunk and report me. Know what happened? NOTHING. I put it in the trunk and headed in. After playing for a few hours and winning a little bit, it was time to head home. I went outside and retrieved the pistol from the trunk. Knowing that its a short trip to the border, I put the pistol on the front seat. QUESTION; was that legal and ok? I ask because it felt AMAZING to drive down the road with a loaded pistol on the front seat. That is something that I can NEVER ever think of doing in NJ. I felt like the first time my father let me drive his car by myself. I was finally an adult, LOL. Before hitting the border I pulled over and unloaded the pistol and put it in the trunk. The rest of the way home I just smiled and giggled to myself like a little kid. All in all in was a very comforting first time CC'ing and I very much look forward to many many more times.

Re: First time CC'ing
You are a felon. You should call the JBT in the PRNJ state police force and turn yourself in.
Don't do that again.
Actually, I'm not sure... but I thought even transporting a weapon in NJ was illegal? Does the fact that you were headed out of state make a difference?"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Re: First time CC'ing
I've seen that covered a lot here and at this point i'm leaning on the side of going with it. of course had any of NJs finest stopped me and found the pistol I would have nicely said "I'm on my way to the range in Bensalem, officer".
Either way, it was a great experience

Re: First time CC'ing
Congratulations on the CC. I'm not sure about the whole transport from NJ to PA thing, so I'll say no more about it. It is perfectly legal to set your loaded firearm on the seat while you drive in PA, although I believe it is unsafe. If you jam on the brakes suddenly, its on the floor. You will most likely try to retrieve it while driving, which is unsafe, or leave it there till you stop somewhere, which is also unsafe. I won't go into all the scenarios that could require immediate access to it, but if it's on the passenger side floor, you won't be able to get to it quickly.
I used to put a pistol in a pocket holster and jam it between the drivers seat and the console, and it held quite snugly, and was right there at my right hand. Now, though, it is always on my hip, at about 3:00, and before the vehicle goes into drive, my coat, sweatshirt, etc., is positioned behind the holster. I make sure I can get a solid grip on it, and there is no interference with the seatbelt. Then we move.
There is so much to think about and learn when your new to it.Power always thinks...that it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws.

Re: First time CC'ing
Congrats on your first CC. You may have to move to PA to feed your new addiction for concealed carry.
