Default Finally got my Revolver today S&W 586

Bought it at the gun show in Carlisle, its a 586 no dash. Has had some mods done to it, DAO, back side of the grip has been changed out, the 3 speed loaders came with it. Also had the release lever cut for a smoother transition using the loaders. The trigger action is so smooth.

Does she have a 1/4" hole tapped in the front of the under lug? We shot steel for several years with one set-up just like that. She was a sweet gun but we moved to a 38 Super race gun and just could not stand to see her be a safe queen so sold her.

Well, actually it does. How weird is that, but I see your from IL.

I fell in love with her once I felt her smooth action.

I will see if the serial # for mine is still around, that would be a blast if it is mine. If it is one of my buddy's conversations it should have the cylinders chamfered and trued to the barrel. They would put alot of rifles to shame out to about 100 yds.
The tap was for mounting a compensator/barrel weight. The rigs were originally put together for bowling pins with FULL steam loads and later used for plate matches.
If you are interested there is a Wichita Comp. up in the loading room that could be bought.

That would be something if it were your old gun. I am dying to shoot it, almost drove over an hour today just to shoot at an indoor range, but the wife talked me out it. I'll wait till my local range is open this week in the evening.

I finally got to shoot her tonight, didn't care much for the 38's. They were kinda lame, but when I shoved some 357's in her, she woke up. This is my first revolver and I am used to semi-auto 9's and a 45.

The trigger took a while to get used to, I was trying to pull it slow, but it didn't like that. I took all my guns with me, so it was quite an evening. I still shoot my best with the SA xd9, until I get more practice time with the revolver.
