I have a couple of nice holsters for them---my boyfriend has a bunch that he's not using now. I think I might want one for the small of my back, even though he's tried to talk me out of it.

Not a good idea as you have very little control over your exposed weapons in that position. A human's capacity for strength is best focused between the nipples and the belly button. Combine that with your own body blocking your natural retention techniques i.e. bad guy grabs gun you smash gun down into the holster and turn away to block bad guys arm right? Turning to your right exposes your left weapon to said bad guy. One more thing is when you go to skin your smoke wagon you placed your arm into a kimura/keylock position willingly. A joint position of epic weakness which fascilitates catastrophic failure of YOUR elbow should the bad guy grab your wrist and wrench it away from your body or up towards you head.
I saw that rig in a movie and it looked cute but it was a John Woo movie... not the best educational video. The movie was Face/Off.
