    Default cz75B .40 thoughts, opinions.

Was at Army/Navy to pick up a knife for my brother in law and strolled past the gun counter and saw a used CZ 75B in .40 for sale for $419. Is this a good deal.

I don't quite know what is good price on
    them.
I know they are quality and reliable in 9mm. Which is what am more interested in. Preferably a 75D.

    Is this a good deal?

Used? New? If new, that's a good price. I have a 75B in 9mm and it is a great shooting handgun. A lot more info can be found here:

Even the 9mm eats parts. Good range gun but not carry reliable

I prefer the decocker, but the CZ 75 is an outstanding gun. Just look at how many copies there are out there. It's the 2nd most copied handgun, after the M1911. As they say, "...imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

As for price, here's what the BBoGV says...

    CZ-75, CZ-75 B, CZ-75 BD

    Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
    MSR $499 $425 $385 $350 $300 $275 $250 $225

    Add $47 for .40 S&W cal.
Add $19 for Model CZ-75 BD (decocker).
Add $200 for high polished or matte stainless steel.
Add $60 for glossy blue (disc. 2011), dual tone, or satin nickel finish.
Add $457 for CZ Kadet .22 LR adapter (includes .22 LR upper slide assembly and mag., new 1998).
Add $47 for single action only (Model CZ-75 B SA, black polymer frame).
Add $81 for Crimson Trace laser grips (black poly coat finish only, mfg. 2007only).

So, $419 is in the ballpark if the gun is in 98% condition.

Thank you for the pricing guide. I appreciate it. I may go back this week and if it still there pick it up. There was also a 9mm IMI too but I was in a hurry and didnt look too closely at it. I was just scanning for CZ's at the time.

I am curious about the opinion of them not being reliable to carry though. I have not heard much of that sentiment before.

The data that "Victory" quotes I think is from a Canadian "experiment" and may not reflect actuality.

Let's say that a very large number of European agencies and an even larger number of civilians and militaries World-wide use the CZ or clones thereof.

I have the 75B, 75 Compact and the 85 all in 9 mm. Probably 5K plus rounds through each over the years. Will eat anything and no FTF or FTEs with commercial or my own reloads. Will carry with out any restrictions or worries.

Remember any weapon is mechanical and all will fail at some point, whether it is a Colt Python, a Les Baer or a Jennings!! Dave_n

OP, Tanner's in Jamison PA has the EAA Witness (which is a knock off of the CZ75) for $300 brand new. They have them in 40 and 9mm. Might be worth a trip.

    I LOVE my CZ's.

Its one of these firearms that you just have to shoot it to appriciate it.
I've always wanted 75B, but for some odd reason, I just never came across good deal on one(or had no money when there were one) for the past 5 stinking years.

This past X-mass, I bought CZ75B Polished SS for my dad, and I was simply a joy to shoot it. My dad was iffy about blight polished SS look, but it quickly won over him(and I).
It easy to shoots well, and damn accurate. Evidently, it did have some griddieness of new gun in the first 100rds or so, but after that, it quickly became smooth opereting little gem. Trigger smoothout ALOT, and slide is now much smoother then was when it was new.

So I loved it way too much not to have one of my own. So I broke down, and bought/paid almost full retail on CZ75 SP-01 Tactical for myself, and shocked to see that first 2 shots from the weapon(after all the initial cleaning and so on is down) went in the same hole at 10yds. And subsequent shots were all within tight 1.25" group(and thats with elcheapo Tulammo from wallie world!)

I'd perfer decocker model over safety model tho. safety is little harder to use for me

Especially since "victory" did not bother to quote any data. This is pretty much a one line opinion from an anonymous source on the internet with nothing to back it up. Essentially, it is a waste of space - bandwidth, electrons, whatever you choose. CZs are very good guns. They are very much underrated by many people because they do not recognize the brand, its history, or its quality.

Nothing is perfect. If you want to discover what the gun is really like, read up on it on the web. Do some Google searches. Then make an informed decision. But one unsubstantiated drive by comment is not worth considering. I love my CZs. They are excellent guns. I got my first one by mistake, but it was not my last - not by a long shot.
