Curious about Butler Co. LTCF turn around

Had a friend tell me she renewed her LTCF today. Instead of the normal time (about a week) they pocessed it on the spot and she walked out with it. Anyone know if Butler has changed to same day issue?

Edit: In the past your picture was taken with the American flag as a back drop. They told her they are no longer allowed to do that. WTF

Way back when, they were not first-day issue. They called references. It took a whopping 4 days. My last 10 years of renewals have been same-day affairs. I am guessing the flag thing must be with the new PSP system, since I had mine done right before they switched last year in front of the Flag.

The last time I renewed, the fringe on the flag made it look like I have a mohawk...

I used to live in Butler County but now live in Ohio. Took the 12 hour Ohio class in January in order to apply and get my Ohio permit. Was in PA last weekend and went to the Butler County courthouse Friday morning to apply for my PA carry permit. The sheriff's office was calling my references within an hour after I had applied and I had my PA permit delivered to my house in Ohio today (Wednesday). Great turnaround.

Last time I renewed in Butler it was on the spot. Didn't take long at all. There's a new sheriff in town now. I don't know if it's the same or not.
Be advised that you have to go in a different building in the back, go through the metal detectors, up the elevators, across the elevated walk way, down the steps to the sheriff's office that is 20ft. from the front door. I feel safer now.
