There is so many choices out there but I'd reccomend a Savage .22 with Accutrigger and $100 scope should keep you in under $300. There are a bunch of savage models out there so I don't know which are the best.

I've recently done some research on this exact topic and you can pick up a nice CZ 452-2E ZKM Varmint for under $300 and they are very accurate. The only drawback is that they don't have sights so you would have to drop extra money for a scope. Everything I have read about them claims that they are a very reliable gun and they offer 5 and 10 round clips. Hope this helps.

Fancy a lever action? Henry makes one that cant be beat. You might just have to plug the tube mag.

I have a Savage MKIIGL (left hand, wood stock)with the Accutrigger and a Nikon 4X28 Prostaff scope. All together I have right around $300 in it. Great rifle shoots well and the scope is crystal clear. It is my recommendation to anyone looking for a good inexpensive 22.

Not necessary. Rifles and handguns do not have a capacity limit in PA for hunting. ...they just need to be manually operated.

I agree. I specifically recommended the Scout to stay within his budget even with the possible addition of an optic. My Squirrel (and other little furry animal) rifle is a CZ 452 American with a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9. It is a wonderful package, but was a bit North of $300.

i was checking the scout out looks promising i could easily find that in a local store for 250. wish the ole 10/22 was allowed NOW i have a issue me and my wife plan on hunting together she shoots right handed. im right handed but Im left eye dominate so i shoot rifles lefty i know theres plenty of us out there what are some ideas so we can share guns....besides a crack open 20 gauge and me having to switch hands everytime with the bolt action

savage mark 2 f looks nice also. few months till the purchase date so plenty of time to try to get out there and shoot some
