OC in State College area?
Long time lurker here...
How many folks OC in the State College and/or surrounding areas? I don't get to that much, and usually when I do I'm technically concealing under a coat, only exposing when I go to sit down or get up at restaurants, or get out of the truck. I don't get to carry all that often to begin with, due to where I'm employed.
To that end, have we had any sort of OC get-togethers in State College? Would anyone be interested in such a thing in the future?andy

Several of us here OC in or around State College. Keep an eye open for announcements for events in and around State College. FOAC is fighting some preemption violations in Centre Co and we go to local government meetings. Some of us will OC to them.
The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

I've been OC'ing there for a couple years - never had any issues

I think I saw someone at CiCi's pizza OCing a while back. With half the area owned by Penn State, it's easy to need to cross property somewhere, so I would speculate that most don't carry downtown for that reason.

I OC in the State College area all the time with no issues, same with the Altoona area. You'll have the usual handful of people that their eyes seem to pop out of their heads when they notice, but for the most part you wouldn't believe how people will overlook it. Even my friend that was with me the entire day had completely missed the fact that I was OC the entire time.

Phalenor,
I'm going to be buying an outside waist band holster from cross breed in the coming week or so. I think the next time we go to Apple Bees or where ever we should open carry. I think that'll be an interesting experience.... You with your pamphlets and me with my no bull shit get out of my way attitude...
Also we should wear our czeck work jackets... I think we'd be pretty intimidating...

Re: OC in State College area?
It would be nice for somebody to bring suit against Penn State for pre-emption violations....

Supposedly you can lock up your firearms at the campus police station, which happens to be in the basement of the parking deck where I park. I should look into that, and how easily/quickly one can deposit/retrieve one's firearm....andy
