    Default Carrying in Wilmington

I currently have a PA LTCF from Montgomery County as well as a non-resident FL CCW. I live in Montgomery County but work in a less than welcoming section of Wilmington, DE. Can someone confirm that this reciprocity from FL is definite and let me know if there are any exceptions or unique situations that apply to a PA resident carrying within the city limits of Wilmington, DE? (are they anything like Philadelphia, distance from schools, notification if stopped by LEO). Who would be the best police department to check with that would know all applicable laws (State or City police)?

I have family in Wilmington, Newark, and Bear Delaware, and we visit there regularly. I carry on my Utah permit and have never had a problem, although that hardly constitutes proof of anything.

There are folks here on PAFOA who are very knowledgeable of Delaware firearms laws, but there is another forum you ought to visit, join, and ask your question...

    http://deloc.org/

It is my understanding that you will be OK, but DE laws are not the same as PA laws, and you will get good information there. A number of their members are also members here, including the founder of that forum.

    Good luck and carry on!

The 1000 foot school zone is a FEDERAL requirement satisfied only by having a permit/license issued by the state that the school is located in.

Don't know much about Delaware gun laws.

Delaware recognizes Florida resident and non-resident license. You're good to go with that.
