Loose Scope?
Alright everyone, heres a question regarding a loose scope. (Sorry if i put this in the wrong forum, feel free to move it if it is). So i took my Savage MK II G (.22LR) to the range today and decided to mount a scope on it. I happened to have a little Tasco 3-9x40 collecting dust so i decided to throw that on. Also had some scope rings that i got at Walmart a while ago (Cheap I know, but im not looking to invest toooo much into it). Anyway I mounted the scope on the gun and was shooting getting about 1.5" groups at 50 yards. After about 10 or so shots the scope moved forward about a inch on the reciever :O. What can i do to secure the rings to the reciever so the scope stays in place? I was thinking of either Loctite or just some nail polish. After all, it is just a .22. Thanks!
Dont Forget To Give Me Some Good Rep! Thanks!

Re: Loose Scope?
If the screws are working loose, blue loctite or nail polish is fine as a low strength thread locker.
If the screws were tight, you need to get new rings. .22 rings are often cheap.

Re: Loose Scope?
Most every offshore (Chinese) ring has:
Tolerance issues,
Uses a cheap Aluminum,
Some claim 6061-T6. Yeah, just like good dog food, sheet rock, and baby formula,
Way too thick wedge that won't clamp correctly in the rail groove,
Use small diameter cross bolt that stress threads which weaken, then loosen.
2010 spent few hours measuring, testing low end rings. Didn't find 1 (one) Chinese made that was half a$$ quality. Sold tens of dozens of the B Square Utility model & some makers (NC Star) just to have a low end.
Dropped ALL! Won't even mount them if a customer brings optics to install.
Spend good $$$ for good rings that work correctly and you'll be happier.
