Breaking News: The New Hampshire Firearms Freedom Act just passed the House 240-120 and is moving on to the Senate!
Looks like the New House is fighting back against Federal Tyranny, this is good news for the other State Sovereignty bills that follow!
Cheers!

EDITOR’S NOTE: The goal of the firearms freedom act is to nullify federal rules, laws and regulations that currently apply to firearms manufactured and sold in state – under authority of congress to regulate “interstate commerce.” The bill states:
The State of New Hampshire declares that a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in New Hampshire and that remains within the state of New Hampshire is not subject to federal law or taxation, or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of Congress to regulate interstate commerce.
and
Any official, agent, or employee of the government of the United States, or employee of a corporation providing services to the government of the United States that enforces or attempts to enforce an act, order, law, statute, rule, or regulation of the government of the United States upon a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in New Hampshire and that remains within the state of New Hampshire shall be guilty of a class B felony.Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty

I love New Hampshire.

I believe Tennessee has a similar law.
"Live free or die" is taken quite seriously in the Granite state.

If it passes into law it will be interesting to see what precedents it sets.

Re: New Hampshire House Passes Firearms Freedom Act
Having lived in NH for several years before moving here, I assure you that the vast majority of Granite Staters would take GREAT offense at being compared in any way with New Jersey. Most of NH is rural -- its biggest city (Manchester) is just over 100,000. Some exiles from Massachusetts have migrated to the southern parts of the state, but many of them moved there to get away from the people's republic attitude (and taxes -- NH has no sales or income tax). Perhaps your interactions there were with the Bostonians at their summer homes on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Does that mean you'll be able to make a full-auto, suppressed SBR from an 80% receiver in the comfort of your basement and say F@*# You to the tax stamps if this baby is signed into law?

The problem is that it's a very small state and to travel anywhere means your carry permits would not be valid. Hopefully you wouldn't get stopped on the way to your destination.
PS I love Lake Winnepesake -sp? I was stationed in Groton, CT and vacationed there."The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

Members of the NH legislature are truly citizen representatives being paid something like a dollar per year. With so many lawmakers having small constituent bases, it is nearly impossible for weekend leftist troublemakers from Massachusetts to get a political toe hold. Great hordes of Massholes (as they're known) have moved up into the Granite State in recent years. The left wing has been able to get a few liberal pukes elected into the NH governor's office but can't seem to infiltrate the legislature.
