    Default Kahr opinions

I am looking at buying a PM9 or PM45 and want input on how they are to shoot. Is the 45 less snappy than the 9? Any info good or bad, I want to hear it all.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, I carry a PM9 and very happy with the pistol. I usually carry it in a pocket holster (AHolster.com). My PM9 had a few FTF's during the first 100 rounds. The last 200 or so I have not had any FTF's. I have small hands, but I still use a Pearce grip extension for a better grip. I fire 147 gr FMJ on the range and 147 gr JHP while carrying. The recoil is very manageable and the pistol is well balanced.

I can give you my opinions on the PM9, but I don't have and have never had the pleasure of shooting a PM45.

I've got close to 1,000 rounds through my PM9 and it's my constant companion when I'm not able to wear a gun on my belt. It's always in my pocket when I'm home, even when I'm just wearing shorts and a tee shirt. About the only place it doesn't go with me is in my hot tub or in the shower. It's small, light, and chambered in a relatively good self defense caliber (9mm). It's got a very good trigger for this type of gun and it's very well made.

It's the smallest real gun that I've ever had the pleasure of owning and it's pretty much turned my S&W 642 into a red headed step child.

A bit chunky and square but one of the best made pistol in its field. And excellent made gun with a great trigger and sights for a pistol that size. it is a good size for CC. One of the better compact pistol available. The only downside is that they are some what expensive.

But they are accurate and easy to shoot, and did I say well made.

That is the first time I've ever heard anyone call a Kahr chunky.

The PM9 I had was flawless. I didn't find it all that harsh to shoot, either. A little rougher than a full sized pistol, but it didn't abuse you like some snubbies.

I really like my Kahr PM 9 (Black Diamond Finish, night sights)..There is a break in period of around 200 rounds...I will take this pistol over any of the new 380's that are out...(I have shot a few of those to)..I carry it in my right front pocket in a little leather pocket holster... This works very well for me.. You usually do not see many of the PM 9's used..I did buy a used MK 9..Which is to heavy ti carry in your pocket..(I use a kidex belt holster)..I can see why someone wanted to sell it..This particular pistol does not shot 115g ammo that well..(It will group very poorly).. So we called it the shotgun for this reason..Then we put in 124g ammo and the groups shrunk to the size of a 50 cent piece at 15 yards..

There is one on Gun Broker for $450..But I do not think it has night sights..(But it does come with 3 mags)..Night sights will set you back about $100 with installation..
