Default Pistol shooting at a state range?

Does anyone know if we're allowed to shoot handguns at the ranges maintained by the PA state game commission?

I am thinking about going to the public range in Dillsburg but I'm not sure if we are allowed to shoot pistols there.

    Anyone know?

If the range says no, then no. if it does'nt, then yes.

Over at Scotia, the ranges are designated for certain weapons: Trap, Shotgun patterning, Rifle, Pistol, LEO, and a "no shotgun" range. This si all via the individual range's rules, so you'll have to read up when you go.

And this info typically isn't available on the State game commission's website?

There is usually an orange sign with the range rules posted.I believe that you are not allowed fully loaded hi cap mags on S/G ranges,in other words limited to six rounds.(EX: one in chamber 5 in mag). There are threads explaining this on this site.
From the game commission website:Users should also practice good shooting etiquette. The regulation, for example, that limits a shooter to having no more than three rounds in a rifle (six in a handgun) may not seem to make much sense.

Actually Dillsburg's SGL has both a rifle range and a pistol range. The parking lot is the same for both, but the pistol range is to the right of the rifle range and down the hill a bit (as you face the rifle range).

Yes both ranges share the same parking lot..There is a large berm that separates the two...Depending upon which end of the lot you park in the walk at most (to the Pistol range0 is only about 30 yards....Beware the brass pickers..(if they are there)...
