thumb break position
Should the thumb break snap be inside, against the body, or outside?
If it matters, IWB.
I have been wearing it with the snap outside, and it frequently catches on things and unsnaps....so I figure I must be doing it wrong.

Re: thumb break position
Usually on the inside - how do/did you reverse the holster to have the option to decide which side the thumb break is on?
Which holster is it?
I don't know of one that would have the belt retention reversible to make this even a question, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.FNX-9 Two-tone

Re: thumb break position
Inside. The concept is that your thumb will naturally unsnap the thumb break as you get a combat grip on your while in the holster. Flip that around - the way you have it now, you have to use your fingers to snap the thumb-break, which doesn't make much send, does it?

Re: thumb break position
Why a thumb break for concealment? Seems there's already a lot of stuff in the way.

Re: thumb break position
IWB...but not necessarily concealed. My shirts are normally tucked in.
I dont remember the brand of the holster...was on the packing but not on the holster itself. The break straps are actually held in place with velcro to make the holster reversible. (wow...i didnt realize how cheap that sounded until I typed it ) But it's not cheap velcro...you really have to dig under it to separate the pieces. Just pulling on it doesnt do it...and the ends are under the clip as well.
this picture isn't the same one, but same design/brand

Re: thumb break position
No matter how budget conscious you are, throw that thing away and get a good holster. If you must have a thumb break, don't have it go over the backstrap.

Re: thumb break position
If it's velcro just reverse it, or buy a new holster...
Try this, they're cheap, like $25

Get a better holster. All of the ones above are pretty cheap, especially the first one. I had one for a 4 inch XD. Worked great.Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here

Re: thumb break position
Agreed - if the strap goes over the grip, you cannot get your hand into a combat-ready position, and by this time, you need ever fraction of a second you can get. The thumb break needs to fit snugly over the back of the slide, so you can wedge the valley between your thumb and forefinger up against the top rear of the pistol's grip as you draw.
