    Default New Surefire High-Capacity Magazines

Hopefully this isn't a re-post. Anyone see these?

The 100 rounder looks god-awful but the 60 rounder looks like it deserves a spot on my wishlist. If it can fit in a standard double mag pouch, and works reliably, I would definitely consider using them. Although the price is outrageous, but thats to be expected for a brand new Surefire product. What do you guys think?

Yep at the shot show. People kept telling them, they better get a move on before high cap bills are pushed through. 60 rounds double stack into single. They appear to function and quality is on par with other makers. I might purchase the sixty and test it. Yes surefire way to empty pockets.

    Check out the video demo:

They look pretty legit. My thoughts:

    a) it isn't an awkward mag to wield (bet its heavy though)

    b) looks much better than the "snail drum" system they had out

    c) these legitimately could be introduced for the U.S. military at one point

    d) they'll be a good $150 plus when they first hit the market ...

The standard mags are doublestack. Wouldn't this be a quad stack to double?

correct. they had some on the range here a while back. Sure-Fire makes GREAT (and expensive) products! the quality is there! i didnt get to handle them or shoot them, but the operators who were testing them like them. MagPull is working on something of the same sorts. ill pick a couple up im sure. i checked for a national stock number (military ordering stuff) and there isnt one yet.

Red face Re: New Surefire High-Capacity Magazines

I could see using a 60, depending on the mission - but the 100 rounder? Beta C-drums are heavy enough as it is, and a 100 rounds of ammo for a semi-auto application is ridiculous.

I'm still waiting for Magpul's 40 round PMag, which, at last check, was going to be available late summer... 2010...

We were talking about these down at the gunshop the other night. It's a good idea (assuming they function to expectation), but the price tag is a bit rich... I may end up getting one or two though after they become proven.

I wonder when someone is going to come out with the same type of magazine for the FAL in a 30 rounder. The current 30 round mags are L --- O --- N --- G.
