Varget!
Varget is more accurate for me. You can fill the case to the brim and still have a safe load. Try some 69gr Sierra match Kings or Nosler Custom Competitions.
BLC-2 meters like water and is easier to make speed with.
I load everything to mag length in the AR.

Varget, Benchmark and Alliant 10X have produced the most accurate loads in my AR. Most of the guys loading blasting ammo will use a ball powder like H335 for the excellent metering characteristics.

That is what I am looking for a powder I can put thru a progressive press but will still give a accurate load.
I have not been able to find the BLC-2. How many grains of BLC-2 are you guys using? The truth shall set you free.

Varget meters just fine through a progressive. BLC-2 just meters like water.
Varget is still the champ if accuracy is your goal.
I've used 24gr of Varget or BLC-2 under the 69grSMK.
Yes, your 1:9 will like them. Twist rate is about bullet length, not weight per se.

Lycanthrope
it might seem as a stupid question but what bullet is the 69 grain SMK. What does the SMK stand for and what is the brand?
I was looking for BL-C locally. I do not buy powder from Midway because of the Hazmat fee. I have Varget because I use it for my 7mm-08.Last edited by bert304; December 8th, 2007 at 12:52 PM.
