Default Loads of people reporting in to me!

As some of you know, I earn my living as a woodworker. I have gotten to be fairly well known in the field, and am in demand from time to time as a speaker and demonstrator. Last weekend I was in Nashville TN to present my stuff at a regional symposium, with a couple of hundred people in attendance.

And, as some of you know, I made a conscious decision to go with open carry as part of my business, carrying while teaching, meeting customers at my shop, etc. I also OC to meetings devoted to the craft. This has been mostly successful locally. No students have complained, and I have only gotten grief from a few limp wristed liberals who are afraid of their own shadows.

But events in Nashville sort of blew me away. I was CC for the symposium, just because. I won't go into all the reasons, but I decided it was the better part of valor. I was one of the main presenters, and this is about woodworking, not about carrying guns. The part I wasn't expecting was the steady stream of attendees coming up to me. That always happens at one of these things. But the difference this time was people were coming up and showing me what THEY were carrying! There was no OC, but there was plenty of CC going on, from little Ruger LCPs up to Kimber .45 ACPs. Others came up to tell me they carried in their own home state, others were telling or showing me their flashlights and other stuff. I got comments about private ranges, and had discussions about buying, selling, and shooting guns, and all at a woodworking convention. It was great! And all this traffic came about just because I have OCd and shown it in a couple of short videos, OCd at a similar event in Richmond VA, and OCd at home while working. We have a lot of very sympathetic people around this country, especially in the south.

    LOL... awesome... was Leonard there?
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I deeply regret that carry of any kind will not be possible at our Hagerstown conference. There will be plenty of long guns on display but that will have to suffice. Looking forward to meeting you there.
