Is it 7.92x57, and who did the bottom metal/magazine?

It's a 25-06 Remiington. The magazine is detachable and made for a 98 Mauser.
I built this gun with a Shaw barrel,New England custom single set trigger,Gentry 3 position safety, and Remimgton sites.
I've built several of these for other guys.

Nice! I'm not into the camo gun thing, but I like that.

Looks like a well built, innovative, purpose driven rifle... Very nice, especially since you did it yourself and it must be very satisfying. Curious, what base action did you use (commercial/military), and what is the contour of that Shaw barrel?

I love Mauser actions too, and had my custom varmint in .243 built on a Zastava 98 commercial action, mated with a custom contour E.R. Shaw barrel fitted by Shaw. Stock was hand formed and fitted from a rectangular Walnut blank by Mike Greco in Beaver Co, I did the trigger work. Mike's specialty was 45/70 Siamese Mauser conversions, and making his favorite .35 Whelen Mausers too. I have owned it for 25 years, and if I feed it the right handloads, it definitely gets the job done.

Not to hijack your thread, but I thought you might enjoy a picture of another custom Mauser:

To me it represents rugged, understated elegance, no compromise old school build quality that can hang with anything made today.
