Default Carry on open military base?

Going to pick up my dad at ft indiantown gap tommorow, wondering if I can CC. It is a drive-through "open" base. Is it legal as long as I dont step inside any buildings?

Yeah, I kinda expected that answer but I'de rather be safe than sorry... I'de like to avoid a rear assault in club fed...

Can I case it up seperate from ammunition and be legal? This is the weekend of the big WWII re-enactment, about 1,500 armed civilians on base will be carrying...some with class III stuff. Oh the ironies

There are places that I would chance carrying even if I'm really not supposed to. But a military base would not be one of them. I hadn't been on a base in about a year and don't recall the signs, but I feel that if our troops stationed there cannot carry, then civilians wouldn't be able to as well. If you're really concerned, call the base and ask. As far as just not entering a building, prob does not matter. You'd still be on the base property and the rules would still apply.
I would rather die in a shootout than get assassinated in a "gun free zone"

From personal experiance its not worth it, once you enetr any base you are subject to a complete search and its not worth the risk. They might be having a re-enactment but no live ammo will be authorized off of a range. The only folks that are permited to carry are secuirty police (MP, Private) and Federal Agents.

Law that cites that it's illegal to carry at a PA military base?

While FIG is state owned, The Garrsion Commander has final say and none that I know of will allow non-Military not in the performance of their duties, or in training or any Civilian to posses a firearm on their Post. You can call anc check but most Post policies are not online.

Everyone has to answer for themselves but below could give you cause to carry.

The fact that on that day my unit was doing a ruck march , was the only reason we were not on or around that staduim .

I love how they have him as a SNIPER; it took unarmed SF Soldiers to disarm him. More recently that nut Job Major down in Texas would be a better excuse but still wouldn't hold water if you get caught. In the end toy take your chances and you pay the prices, it’s a personal choice

um, idk if anyone has been on ftig. It uses primary public access roads (rt 934) and is an "open" base, there are no security check points, and no ID is required to walk about freely on most of the base. There are even days when the base will host zeroing for hunters and childs saftey courses on their ranges. I would say if you are driving around itd be the same thing as a school, you are on a public access road needed to get to 81 from say hershey, or lebanon, or annville. It is not a typical military base.
