Default AZ Lawmaker: Guns OK in AZ Senate

    http://azcapitoltimes.com/news/2011/...uns-in-senate/

Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce says it’s OK for State Senators to carry guns inside the Senate building.

The Arizona Republic reports the Mesa Republican issued a memo Tuesday to lawmakers clarifying his policy.

Pearce says a member of the Legislature does not lose his or her Second Amendment rights when coming to work each day.

The policy does conflict with state law that prohibits weapons inside the Arizona House and Senate.

Pearce counters that the Arizona Constitution gives him the authority to make the rules within the building.

Phoenix Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema says she plans to ask Pearce for a list of members packing guns.

Of course the anti wants a list of those carrying, why not just make it easier for criminals to know who isn't (by the fact that they aren't on said list) carrying so they can pick the safer targets to rob.

Cause that's such a brilliant thing to do.

Well, I'll be damned! Who knew, that when the founders used the word "People" in the 2A, they really just meant "state legislators", or perhaps just "state senators"?

And I was under the impression that laws applied to everyone, and that a building policies are subsidiary to state law.

It's just another granola eating progressive/socialist/communist looking for free publicity.

Election time is coming and that person no doubt needs to show that she is serious on issuses that her donors are concerned with.

Nothing to see here folks, just remember her name and contribute to her opponent in the next election
    gotta love her ;)

Sounds like a sound policy if you ask me. Nothing gives a criminal wet dreams more than a gun free zone.

Who says he is gonna have a list? If its permitted no one need tell him that they are carrying concealed. And what will she do with that list? Run away and hide under her desk if a gun-toting State Senator walks her way?

She'll publicize it for all to see. What's next a list of gay senators, a list of senators with a drunk driving record, a list of senators who beat their wives and vice-versa? That list will never happen. Let her go around and grab everybody to find out if it's a gun or if they're just happy to see her.
The answer to a fool is silence.
