Fantastic deal, Russian's run $400 and up on average now. I would say ok to the Tapco or other aftermarket stock if you have to, but skip the detachable duckbill mags and resist any permanent changes to the rifle (drill and tap, cut bayonet lug). Get a front sight adjustment tool (they work for both AK's and SKS's) and you should be good to go for some fun shooting.

For three Ben's and all those accessories AND ammo. That was a steal.

Very nice gun and a wonderful girlfriend. Perhaps she is considerate of you because of the way you treat her?

Nice find on both the rifle and your girl. You do what you gotta do man, but it generally pays off in the end. Luckily I don't know what it feels like to depart with sentimental firearms and hopefully I never will, but I know you did so with the best interest of your family and that is enough to make any grandpa proud of a grandson. Congrats again man.

Is the front sight really that bad on SKS's?
I never adjusted the one on my Chinese one and it shot pretty accurately.

Hopefully you never do have to, they're just wood and metal but it's the memories that matter the most.

Thank you, I appreciate it. =)
