Wink Couch potato kind of day (with protection)

Championship Sunday, along with a Flyers / Black Hawks game calls for some serious eats and drink.

I started out with some wings and Hoegaarden, along with some small caliber protection for the Flyers game.

All seasoned up, ready for the grill - protected by a Sig Trailside

Grilled over low / medium temperature on the top rack for about 2 hours until nice and crispy

ready along with celery and blue cheese for a Black Hawks ass whoopin
    Protected by a S&W 622

The cups were from Game 3 from last years finals. The Flyers won 4-3 in OT.

Great game with a great result.

Time for some football and dinner.

Rib eyes (his and her cut), baked potatoes, caramelized sweet onions, Portabella mushrooms sauteed in garlic and butter, and green beans. All washed down with some Spaten Dunkel (dark)

    Ready for the grill.
The big one weighed in at 28oz so it needed some large caliber protection with a few reloads.
Colt model 1917 US Army .45acp made in 1918.

The big one was thicker than a 45acp is tall!

All ready to go, just in time for the 4th quarter.
    Protected by a 1943 Colt 1911A1.
I thought this meal needed a BUG as well - 1967 Colt Cobra.

grilled to perfection - cool red center

Good first game - tough day for Chicago

After that dinner, I'll be skipping desert.

Time for the Stillers / Jets game.

I'd rep you if you posted pics of the look on your wife's face while you're taking all these photos. You know, the look that says, "retard."

I know the look because I made potato soup today and I was busted taking photos.

    Will post later...

Regarding that Colt 1917 revolver... wow, what a manly photo that is.
Awesome handgun, don't think I've seen one before.

I see you have extraordinary taste in both beer and in hockey teams. Spaten makes some great beers, they make some of the best Double Bock beer i've had. As well, the Flyers kick ass!

I'm looking forward to those pictures. We are certainly having soup weather!

My wife is so used to me taking MP pictures she doesn't even give me a look anymore. I think she is numb. I guess after being married to me for almost 27 years she should be

In 1917, Colt and S&W started to make large frame revolvers chambered in .45acp for use in World War One. It was designated as the M1917.

There weren't enough M1911's to arm all of our soldiers and the M1917 helped take up the slack. They were made starting in late 1917 until early 1919. S&W made just under 170,000 and Colt made approximately 155,000.

I'm looking to add a S&W 1917 to the "collection" sometime in the near future.
