    Default Highnoon Holsters

As of now I carry my g23 in a serpa. I'm looking for another holster and im leaning towards a highnoon slide guard or sky high. I like the open top design of the slide guard but I'm concerned about retention. The sky high is the same holster with a retention strap. Looking for some input?

Good question. I'll answer this simpley. A serpa is a great holster to retain your gun but the web plastic belt loops leaves alot to be desired. So, as a criminal rips the gun off your belt, don't worry, it'll be inside the holster but running down the street with the criminal.

I reviewed the two you mentioned and I believe the sky high would be the best. It looks to be a level 1.25 in retention and will not easily get ripped off your belt.

Get the horsehide, much more durable. I use a Sideguard by Highnoon and love it

I have both and love each of them for different reasons. If I will be keeping it concealed I use the Slide Guard. If OC I use the Sky High (which I don't do very often due to my location). If you get the Sky High do practice releasing the snap. At first it seems to be harder than it should be but very quickly it gets to be a natural motion.

As for cowhide or horsehide, the above mentioned holsters are cowhide but the two IWB holsters from High Noon that I have are horsehide where they take much more abuse from sweat and wear.
