Re: Rules for gun fighting...
nope, and i never intend to get into one either. I'm quite proud of that.
However, the guy that compiled my set of rules (and is responsible for a good portion of my training) has been in a gunfight. Many of the people who trained him were in gunfights and people that make a living getting into gunfights generally accept these as a good set of rules.
What do you think needs changing?

The military. (you know, when they're not on bullshit peacekeeping missions)
As far as my story, I was trained by uncle Sam, to de-escalate a situation before it gets that far. People who talk about it have never done it, thos ewho have done it don't really like to tell STORIES..
As far as people who tell stories being full of it, you are generally correct, however, there is one exception: People who have done it who are training other people to do it.

Re: Rules for gun fighting...
I love stories. And yes, it makes me realize that I need more training. In fact people like Massab Ayoob, Rex Applegate, Chuck Taylor are three that come to mind quickly. They all write about and tell stories about their experiences, so we can all learn from them.
You got a lot of military and ex-military people here. And I am willing to bet that most them will lean toward "I'm not trained that well for a gunfight"..... At least one with you and your family walking down the street, and your only armed with your CCW on your hip.
Bit different with a couple hundred buddies, all carrying AR's, grenades, backed by Armor and artillery, and aircraft. Not quite the same thing...... SEMPER FIThe American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....
The day they want my guns, they'll have to bring theirs!!!Proud to be One of the 3%

Re: Rules for gun fighting...
Alright, First I meant no offense here. Second, there are no RULES for gunfights. And as far as my story goes I was a federal LEO for a few years working with DEA, Customs and immigration in the late 90's. So yes I have some expereince in this field. I guess I get a little worked up reading things like this for some reason.
Brown-Bear, OUT.
