My 1971 Military Romanian AKM
When I purchased it from a well known and respected member here it was just a NIB single stack GP WASR with a few coats of russian red stain. I of course am a tinkerer and can not leave things alone. here is what I have done...
1. opened the magwell
2. refinished the wood with red mahogany stain
3. swaped the ugly Tapco PG with an original Romy pistol grip
4. added rippled buttplate(ak-74 type)
5. cut loose the muzzle nut and installed an AK-74 style brake
6. swapped the mold and cracking prone leather sling for a nice Romy SAR-1 sling
7. refinished the steel with 4 baked on coats of Dupli-color low gloss engine enamel and she can now be submerged in liquids and chemicals, withstand 500 degree heat and can take a wire wheel brush and not show any damage. my $6 paint job puts those expensive duracoat jobs to shame haha

Wow...it took you 6 years to post these photos? J/k, very nice rifle! Sometimes you just gotta add a little personal touch to them! Thanks for posting.
