LTCF renewal process
Well, looks like the montco sheriff isn't sending out renewal notices. I'm coming due and i need to know from anyone who has done it recently if i can just go up to the courthouse with cash in hand or if there are some other hoops i have to jump through like there were getting the permit initially. God forbid they put something clear and concise on their website.
(ignore my location info, my residence, for legal purposes, is in montco.)

Re: LTCF renewal process
I just got my permit a few month ago and when I was there I asked and was told that all you need to do is go there, fill out the form and make the payment. I was also told that they have a 60 day grace period but i wouldn't count on that to much.

My county it matters not you do the same process, regardless on if it is your first time or your 100th time.

Re: LTCF renewal process
Well, considering it's suppossed to be the exact same process (not withstanding being mailed the application ahead of time), that's a good thing.
The PCCD, PSP, & PA Sheriffs' Association have yet to figure this out, btw, and I have the documents to show that.
18 Pa.C.S. § 6109
[subsection (f)(2), emphasis added]
(2) At least 60 days prior to the expiration of each license, the issuing sheriff shall send to the licensee an application for renewal of license. Failure to receive a renewal application shall not relieve a licensee from the responsibility to renew the license.

Re: LTCF renewal process
Just renewed mine 2 months ago. Had to get form online and take to local PD and they fill it out and send to Montgomery county. When county has it (which you have to call to find out) you can show up with money in hand and they will run thier check and take photo for ID.
Hope this helps.
