Alabama ammo "special k"??
So I see a lot of suppressor tests done with Alabama ammo special k in 9mm. Does anyone have any hands on experience with it? Looks to be about $14-15 a box. Just wondering if it's worth it over regular American eagle 147gr?

Re: Alabama ammo "special k"??
I've shot a few boxes. Its probably the most quiet "factory" ammo you will find.
Its not easy to get a hold of though.
Im pretty sure its loaded with either VV N320 or N340 powder.
I have shot Winchester 147, Speer Lawman 147, Fed Am Eagle 147 and a few other factory flavors. To me, they all sound about the same.
You will find that hand loads are your absolute most quiet ammo available.
There are a great number of types of powder that can be used in hand loading 9mm subs. A fast burning pistol powder is your best bet. Some guys even use shotgun powder(solo1000, clays) but do your homework first.

Just curious if the typical person can hear the difference between the special k vs am eagle? If it's night and day difference the I will order some up and try it.

Re: Alabama ammo "special k"??
The fiocchi 158 gr 9mm is also popular with subgunners because it is round nose and works very well. Not expensive, either. I would suggest you pick up a box and give it a shot. I've never fired Special K but that is also well regarded.
